MISSION
Through innovative initiatives, Helms Hope is committed to advancing awareness, prevention, and the early detection of skin cancer. Our goal is to completely eliminate skin cancer deaths in America.
FOCUS
Helms Hope is committed to staying on the “front end” of skin cancer - awareness, prevention, and early detection. We do not put any money towards research. Helms Hope believes that our resources will save more lives through an intense focus on the front end of skin cancer.
INSPIRATION
Helms Hope was inspired by the life and legacy of Shawn Helms Jr, a 21 year old from Heath, TX. Shawn Jr. was a bright, funny, charming, chill, and likable guy who unfortunately developed stage IV melanoma under his thick, curly, black hair. Read more about Shawn's story here
